Fall Tahoe Horse Kids Schedule is Up

The fall schedule is now up and ready to book!

Tahoe Horse Kids is our introductory program offered in the spring and the fall.

Beginner riders may rotate through large ponies and small horses to increase their comfort and confidence.

During this program, students will receive instruction in grooming and tacking up. They will learn how to lead a horse safely and how to control their horse on the ground. They will spend a minimum of an hour on horseback. Depending on their level, they will learn to walk, trot, and canter. Kids will help with barn chores if there is time.
Details:

  • The minimum age is 8, 7 if they have ridden in our programs before

  • 8 lessons per month, 2 hours per session

  • Monday Wednesday Sessions are western lessons

  • Tuesday Thursday Sessions are western lesson with the option to ride English based on their previous experience.

Friday Morning Lesson Work Group: will run for 8 weeks, 3 hours (2 hours of horse-related activities, 1 hour of barn chores)

This program will be an introduction to riding both English and Western. This is for kids who want to ride more but aren’t ready to make the jump to a full-size horse. We use small horses and ponies to help children gain comfort around horses and to learn how to ride or advance their riding skills. Children may rotate through ponies to increase their comfort and confidence. Geared to 7-8-year-olds.

There will be no make-ups (unless weather-related). This is a pre-paid membership program – it is NOT a pack of lessons.
