Sierra Riding Academy

The mission of the Sierra Riding Academy is to provide students with an opportunity to take their horseback riding to the next level.  We believe that working hard on the ground is just as important as riding, and all our riders are expected to pitch in through volunteer work and cleaning their own stalls when asked. Sierra Riding Academy allows children to have experiences with horses without the full time commitment of horse ownership. We hope to provide a bridge to horse ownership with our programs.

Community Service through Mentorship

We believe the Sierra Riding Academy is unique because riders learn horsemanship not only from instructors, but also by helping other riders and participating in daily barn life.

While helping at the barn, riders gain hands-on experience working with ponies and project horses. Older riders may assist on the back of trail rides, giving them valuable real-world experience with horses and guests.

SRA riders also enjoy many of the perks of summer camp — time at the barn, riding, and working with horses — while paying only a fraction of the cost.

All SRA riders are required to complete community service hours at the barn during the summer, helping support younger riders and contributing to the barn community.
