Tahoe Horse Kids
Spring April -June
This program is offered in the spring and fall for riders who want to begin or advance their riding skills in a structured learning environment.
During the program, students will receive instruction in grooming, tacking up, and basic horsemanship. Riders will learn how to lead a horse safely, handle their horse on the ground, and develop confidence in the saddle.
Each session includes a minimum of one hour of riding time. Depending on their experience level, riders will work on walking, trotting, and cantering. When time allows, riders may also help with basic barn chores, which are an important part of learning horsemanship.
All riders will be evaluated and assigned an appropriate horse for the duration of the program.
This is a pre-paid membership program, not a pack of lessons.
Make-up lessons are not offered unless a session is canceled due to weather.

Horsemanship Safety 101
Learn all the basic safety requirements for our horsemanship program. This 2.5 hour clinic will cover all aspects of being safe around the horse on both the ground and mounted. This course is required for all riders who lease horses and is strongly encouraged for all horse people looking to be safe around their horse.
The clinic will teach safety but will also be fun! Expect 1.15 hours on horseback in the arena and on the trail and the rest of the time on the ground.
