At Piping Rock, we are the only trail ride operation in the Tahoe/Truckee area that allows guests to ride in the snow. Escape the ski lines and the crowds and join us for magical views. It is truly an incredible holiday experience.
This Thanksgiving holiday season Piping Rock will donate 20% of your trail ride to the American Red Cross to help aid California wildfire relief efforts.
So far we have already donated $1,000.
Come join us on Saturday October 13th for a fun filled day of activities including Trail Rides, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Games, Food, Music & more! Admission is free. Some activities require a donation to participate. All proceeds go to helping local Tahoe Truckee kids with the horse programs!
This fall we are excited to offer Trail Riding 101 - a new horsemanship clinic focusing on the fundamentals of trail riding to help you get the most out of your next ride. In this fun two hour session at the ranch and on the trail, we will cover tack, ground work, emergency breaking, seat control, and basic horse sense. Come out and improve your horsemanship while enjoying a beautiful trail ride with us this fall!
Tahoe Horse Kids is our introductory program that provides an opportunity for kids to ride after school and in the winter, spring and fall for 9 sessions each. THK focuses on safety and building solid horseback riding fundamentals. After a few sessions of THK, many kids are ready to move up to the Sierra Riding Academy.
For the younger ones, we offer a camp that builds skills and comfort handling ponies and other farm animals. While campers will learn to ride the ponies, this camp is focused on hands on learning and adventure for ages 4 to 10. Camp is offered in a morning session from 9am-12pm. Please email to book for an afternoon session which is from 1pm- 4pm. The price is $450 per camper per session.
